MAKE or DO?
X When I retire I want to make my own business and play golf at weekends.
Why is the above sentence wrong?
‘Make’ and ‘do’ can cause some confusion to some English speakers. The above sentence is wrong because ‘make’ is usually used to mean – to produce or to create something whereas ‘do’ is commonly used for activities.
○ When I retire I want to do my own business and play golf at weekends.
○ I usually make an avocado sandwich for my breakfast.
