こんにちは。日本人スタッフMです。
今日はラルフ先生の英語ミニレッスンをお届けします。
今回のテーマは「BringとTake」。
使い方を間違えている人が意外と多いそうですよ。

Bring and take are often confused by English learners

“If your child is sick, bring him to the hospital.”

Unless the speaker is at the hospital at the time of speaking, for example speaking on the telephone to the mother, this sentence is incorrect.

“If your child is sick, take him to the hospital.”

Is correct when the speaker is giving the advice away from the hospital.

“Don’t forget to bring your umbrella,” is only correct if the speaker is accompanying the person who is going out in the rain.

Otherwise it’s “Don’t forget to take your umbrella,” when the person giving the advice is staying at home.

We hope this was helpful for you. Thank you for reading.

We hope to see you at ICLS Malayisa.
